I have selected some of the best lavender teas and tea blends for your consideration. Let’s dive in and see if we can’t find something for your tastes. If you are just looking for a great lavender tea to try then I recommend Art Of Tea Lavender Chamomile Rose Blend.

The Best Lavender Teas To Try In 2023

This list contains both pure lavender tea brands as well as a few blended teas where lavender is one of the major flavors in the tea. These are just my opinion and there are plenty of other great lavender teas and blends out there. Think of this as more of a starting point for your journey into the teas of the purple wonder.

#1 Art Of Tea Lavender Chamomile Rose Blend

Art Of Tea is one of my favorite online tea resources. They make a great lavender tea blend as well as a huge number of other herbal flower teas for you to try. The quality of their teas is fantastic and consistent across the board. The lavender infusion of theirs is among my favorite lavender teas.

  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Rose
  • Rosehips
  • Peppercorn

It is a blend and a full-flavored lavender infusion blend that is remarkably drinkable. This is hands down one of my favorite lavender teas on this list and just in general. The rose gives it even more floral flavor and the peppercorns add a bit of bite to the experience.

There are blends that I prefer and other herbal teas that I enjoy more but Art Of Tea is a great place to start if you are looking to try lavender tea for the first time. You can find Art Of Tea Lavender Chamomile Rose Blend on their website.

#2 Culinary Teas – Lavender Earl Grey Tea

Culinary Teas is always making some interesting blends. This is the first of our Lavender Earl Grey Teas on our list. Culinary Teas has found an incredible blend of stalwart Earl Grey Tea and floral lavender tea. There is also a bit of cornflower added as well.

Lavender Compliments the robust flavor of the Earl Grey black tea almost perfectly. And the public has noticed as more and more tea shops are offering up this wonderful lavender tea blend. You can find this amazing Lavender Earl Grey Tea (*affiliate link) on the Culinary Tea website.

If you haven’t tried a Lavender Earl Grey, I highly recommend giving it a chance as it is one of the better lavender tea blends around.

#3 Yogi Honey Lavender Stress Relief Tea

This is a very flavorful lavender tea blend from Yogi Teas. It has a natural honey flavor added to it that gives it a bit of extra sweetness. In addition to the lavender flavor it also has a large number of other flavors imbued into it:

Here they are.

  • Organic Rooibos Leaf
  • Organic Chamomile Flower
  • Organic Lemon Balm Leaf
  • Organic Lemongrass
  • Organic Spearmint Leaf
  • Organic Peppermint Leaf
  • Organic Sage Leaf
  • Organic Passionflower Plant Extract
  • Organic Lemon Myrtle Flavor
  • Organic Stevia Leaf
  • Organic Vanilla Flavor
  • Organic Honey Flavor

It might barely qualify as a lavender tea but I felt like it should be on this list since it is a very welcoming tea for just about everyone. Even non-tea drinkers will probably enjoy it, but it might rub more advanced tea drinkers the wrong way.

The bags Yogi uses are gluten and toxin-free. This is a sometimes overlooked aspect of bagged teas. You want to make sure the bags are not going to add any flavor or toxins, like bleach, to your tea. You can read more about Yogi’s packaging here.

Overall this is a very enjoyable tea if you don’t mind the added sweetness from the honey. I tend to drink my tea without sweeteners so this one is not at the top of my lavender tea list. Check the price of Yogi Honey Lavender Stress Relief Tea (*affiliate link) on Amazon.

#4 Art Of Tea – London Tea

London Tea is another wonderful lavender tea blend with a strange name from the fine folks over at the Art of Tea. This is another great lavender earl grey tea blend. Whether you like their blends or not they are always doing something interesting. This lavender blend is no exception. It has a great earl grey underneath the floral lavender.

In addition to the lavender, here are the other flavors that make up this unique blend.

  • Black Tea
  • Organic Lavender
  • Natural Oil of Bergamot

I have said it before and I will say it again, the lavender earl grey teas are absolutely fantastic. Any tea drinker should try these out at least once in their tea journey. You can find Art of Tea’s London Tea (*affiliate link) on their website.

#5 Feel Good Organics – Lavender Flowers

Feel Good Organics is one of the best herbal tea suppliers in the business and their lavender tea offering follows that great tradition. The loose lavender flowers are fantastic and great for making a cup of lavender tea. You can also use their lavender flowers as the base for your own homemade lavender tea blends.

Add in some Feel Good Organics hibiscus and chamomile flowers for an incredible lavender tea that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The flower quality from Feel Good Organics is typically outstanding. The Lavender flowers are not too crushed and are perfect for steeping one of the best cups of lavender tea. You can find Feel Good Organics Lavender Flowers (*affiliate link) On Amazon

#6 Tao of Tea – Organic Lavender Flowers

Not to be outdone, Tao of Tea jumps into our list with a great Organic flower offering. These flowers make a great cup of lavender tea that you cannot go wrong with. It will really come down to personal preference when choosing a full lavender flower to brew your tea with. All of the ones on this list are very good, although I do have my favorites.

You really can’t go wrong with any of them. If you can find it in the tin, I recommend that as the best container to get for these wonderful lavender flowers. You can check out Tao Of Tea’s Organic Lavender Flowers (*affiliate link) on Amazon.

#7 Starwest Botanicals – Organic Loose Lavender

Starwest Botanicals Is one of the best places to find loose herbs for your tea.  They have just about every herb you could possibly think of including a fantastic organic lavender that is outstanding for making a great cup of lavender tea.

They have various different grades of this lavender so you’ll have to figure out which one you like the best and balance the price of it with the quality.

I haven’t tried all of the offerings but the two that I did try were very good. The select and extra that I tried Were pretty similar in overall flavor and I couldn’t really tell them apart too much.

You’ll have to give each one a try to see which one hits your taste buds just right.  You can also get these lavender flowers in the bulk of up to 1 lb which is going to make quite a few cups of lavender tea.

if you’re looking for a loose-leaf lavender to craft your tea out of you cannot go wrong with this wonderful offering from Starwest Botanicals. You can find Starwest Botanicals Organic Lavender Flowers (*affiliate link) on their website.

#8 Art Of Tea – 6 PM Tea

6 pm Tea from the Art of Tea is another one of their incredibly interesting blended teas. And of course, it has a strange name to boot. The lavender tea is pretty noticeable in this wonderful blend but there are also some other great flavors that round out this tea.

This blend is also Fair Trade certified, making it a great choice for people concerned about the farmers who grow these ingredients.

In addition to the organic lavender, here are the other flavors for this evening tea.

  • Chamomile
  • Organic Roses
  • Organic Rosehips
  • Organic Pink Peppercorn

The added rose and rosehip flavors really accentuate the floral flavor of the lavender and the chamomile adds a nice soothing touch, while the peppercorn gives it a little bite. Another outstanding blend for the masters over at Art of Tea. You can check out Art of Tea’s 6 PM Tea (*affiliate link) on their website.

#9 Culinary Teas – Comfort Herbal Tea

This lavender tea blend from Culinary Teas is quite a floral extravaganza. There is a little bite from the spearmint that is blended in but other than that it is flower herbal tea through and through.

No one flavor really overpowers the others and that is why I added it to our list of great lavender tea brands. The lavender is noticeable but not so much that it drowns out the other flavors. The rose petals really come to the fore as well and you have a lovely floral blended tea that just works. You can find Culinary Teas Comfort Herbal Tea (*affiliate link) on their website.

The lavender flavor is blended with 4 other herbal flavors. These include:

  • Linden Flowers
  • Spearmint
  • Chamomile
  • Rose Petals

#10 Art Of Tea – Tuscany Tea

Leave it to Art of Tea to come up with a soothing, floral cup of white tea. White tea is not something you usually associate with a lavender blend but this one is outstanding. All the flavors come together to produce a smooth flowery experience with a little bit of mint kick just to even things out. All this one top of a wonderful white tea base.

Here are all the flavors in this amazing blended tea.

  • White Tea
  • Organic Rose Petals
  • Organic Mint
  • Organic Lavender

This is definitely something different to consider for your lavender tea-drinking pleasure. I don’t see a lot of lavender and white tea blends but this one is very good. The other flavors enhance the overall experience and make for one of the most interesting lavender teas around. You can find Art of Tea’s Tuscany Tea on their website.

#11 Tiesta Tea – Lavender Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is one of the best flower herbal teas to blend with lavender. The subtle flavor of the chamomile makes way for the floral taste that lavender is famous for. The lavender doesn’t completely overwhelm the chamomile. And together they form a nice symbiotic flavor relationship.

That said, chamomile is a pretty divisive tea. Many people look for ways to make it taste better, you can check out our suggestions on the matter. The Tiesta Tea chamomile and lavender blend do a good job of letting the lavender taste move front and center without removing the chamomile flavor once and for all.

Still, it covers the chamomile taste enough so that anyone who doesn’t like chamomile might enjoy a cup of this wonderful blend. You can find Tiesta Tea Lavender Chamomile Tea (*affiliate link) on Amazon.

#12 Traditional Medicinals – Chamomile and Lavender Tea

This chamomile and lavender blend from Traditional Medicinals is very similar to the Tiesta Tea offering in the previous section.

They both have their merits but it really comes down to personal taste as to which one you want to drink long-term. I find them both outstanding and typically just choose the less expensive of the two when I am in the market to buy a lavender chamomile tea.

You really can’t go wrong with either and they are both flavorful and convenient. You can find Traditional Medicinals Chamomile and Lavender Tea (*affiliate link) on Amazon.

#13 Culinary Teas – Ayurvedic Calming Herbal Tea

Another amazing blend from Culinary Teas. This blend has a huge number of flavors in it but the floral lavender still breaks through. It is not the most prominent flavor.

But lavender has enough agency to be included on this list. The anise seed, check out our flavor profile here, and the licorice really shines through in this wonderful and interesting lavender tea blend.

Providing the complex taste for this tea with the lavender are the following flavors.

  • Rooibos
  • Nettle
  • Rosehip
  • Raspberry
  • Licorice root pieces
  • Anise
  • Cardamom
  • Clove
  • Calendula
  • Safflower

It really is amazing that these 11 flavors all seem to play their part in this complex herbal infusion. So while not technically a lavender tea I think you’ll find it has enough lavender character to be included on our list. You can find the Culinary Teas Ayurvedic Calming Herbal Tea (*affiliate link) on their website. Give this little gem a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

#14 For Her Tea by Art Of Tea

Continuing Art of Tea’s propensity for strange names for their tea we are faced with “For Her Tea”. That is the name they have given this lavender tea blend. Weird name aside it is a pretty good blend of a variety of flavors.

The lavender is still prominent which is why it makes this list of great lavender teas to try. There is a lot going on in this nice little lavender tea blend. Art of Tea prides itself on crafting some wonderful herbal tea blends and this is no exception. You can find For Her Tea on the Art of Tea (*affiliate link) website.

In addition to the Organic Lavender, the other flavors for this oddly named blend are:

  • Organic Shatavari
  • Organic Fennel
  • Roses
  • Green Rooibos
  • Chrysanthemum
  • Organic Osmanthus
  • Organic Hibiscus

#15 Stash Tea – Organic Lavender Tulsi Tea

One of the few pre-packaged Lavender and tulsi blends that I have been able to find. Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil. It brings a nice earthy flavor note to the floral lavender. But it is a subtle one and doesn’t really add any bitterness to the proceedings.

The combination works well. The lavender is front and center in this tea blend but never completely overpowering the holy basil flavor. I would suggest letting this tea steep for at least 5 minutes to really draw out all the flavors. A short 3 or 4 steep left my first cup a little weak and flavorless.

5 to 10 minutes is going to give you the right amount of flavor for this interesting blend. You can find it on Stash Tea Organic Lavender Tulsi Tea (*affiliate link) Amazon.

#16 Twinings – Lavender Earl Grey

Twinings is one of the most popular names in the tea business. You can find their offering just about anywhere and they have successfully broken into the mainstream.

They make our list with their fantastic Lavender Earl Grey tea. Like the others on this list, this lavender earl grey is an outstanding blend of black tea and lavender flowers that makes one of the most enjoyable teas I have had in a while.

The bergamot brings this blend all together and gives it that signature citrus flavor that makes this tea work so well. This Twining’s offering comes in bags, making it a convenient option for brewing a quick cup of tea.

Be aware that black tea will have caffeine in it so if you are looking for caffeine-free lavender tea then this might not be for you. I think we have 3 Lavender earl grey options on this list. Which one is the best? That is up to you to decide. You can find Twinings Lavender Earl Grey Tea (*affiliate link) on Amazon.

#17 Teavana – Citrus Lavender

Teavana jumps onto our list with this wonderful citrus blend. The flavors of the citrus fruits blend well with the lovely floral flavor of the lavender and there is a bit of chamomile and sage in there to boot.

The flavors for this blend are as follows:

  • Pineapple
  • Apple
  • Orange Zest
  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Sage

It all works together eloquently and creates a very smooth and drinkable fruity-floral tea. The lavender is never overwhelmed but the citrus flavors cut into its overall potency and the sage gives it a little savory note.

I would hesitate to call this tea organic as I could not find a USDA Organic label on their packaging. I will leave it on the list with that caveat. Be aware that this tea does have some sugary flavors in it, from the pineapple I imagine. It also contains Malic Acid (a preservative) according to the Teavana website.

I am not a fan of too much sugar, natural or otherwise added to tea but I chose to put one example on this list and this is more of a tea drinker than a traditional cup of herbal tea. You can check out Teavana Citrus Lavender Tea (*affiliate link)on Amazon.

A Few Things To Consider When Choosing A Lavender Tea

A large part of choosing the right lavender team is going to come down to personal preference. In fact, the majority of it will come down to whether or not you like that particular brand or blend of lavender tea. But there are a few factors that you should consider when choosing lavender tea.  The quality of the flowers if you’re buying loose-leaf is going to be a big factor.

The brand of lavender tea is another big factor that can really determine how flavorful the overall is going to be. If you’re choosing a bag of lavender you’re going to want to consider what type of bag and how those bags are made.

There are a few other factors as well and I’m going to dive in a little bit deeper and each one of these to give you a sort of brief buying guide for lavender tea. This is by no means comprehensive but it should help you a little bit when you are deciding which lavender teas to add to your tea repertoire.

Choose The Lavender Tea You Like

There’s an old saying that something is not your cup of tea.  The reason this thing is so popular and so widely known is that tea is something that is specific to the individual. How you drink your tea and what types of tea you like are going to be unique to you.  That’s true for every tea including the wonderful lavender teas that we’re talking about here today.

So the first step in choosing the lavender teas that you want to drink is trying as many of them as you possibly can. There is no amount of reviews or taste profiles or anything else that is going to give you a definitive answer on whether or not you are going to like that particular tea.

Find the brands or blends that you love and experiment with the others but don’t drink lavender tea just because it’s the most popular or it’s the most renowned or anything like that. If your idea of a great lavender tea is the cheapest cup of tea you can find then that’s the best cup of lavender tea for you.

Prepare Your Lavender Tea Properly

The only way you’re going to know that a specific lavender tea is perfect for you is if you make it the right way. Whether it’s an herbal or a true tea it is going to have a specific way to prepare it.

There’s a specific temperature for the water. There’s a specific time for the steep. And there’s a specific amount of tea or flowers that need to go into it to make the tea the right way.

Always check the box or label on the specific lavender tea that you buy and see how they say to make it and then for the first cup anyway make it exactly as they say.

And then you can start experimenting to get it just right for your specific taste. Even after you have a lot of experience with tea, in general, you still want to follow the directions for the first cup just to see what they think their tea should taste like.

I will say that I rarely follow the instructions after the first cup of tea because I kind of get a feeling for where I want that tea to be for my own specific taste.

You can check out how to make a great cup of lavender tea in general terms in our article here.

Check The Lavender Flowers

Another thing I like to do when determining the quality of lavender tea is to check the actual flowers themselves when I get the bag of tea.

If you’re buying loose-leaf lavender flowers then it’s very easy to check them out to make sure that they look good there are no real issues with the flowers.

On rare occasions, you can find spoiled lavender flowers or even molded lavender flowers in these really check that out before you put them in your tea.

This is incredibly rare and I’ve only had it happen a couple of times over the years and never with lavender flowers particularly. But you can get a bad bag of tea every now and again.

If you’re ordering lavender tea in pre-made tea bags that’s a different issue and the flowers themselves are not going to be as robust as they are if you buying loose leaf.

The flowers in the bags tend to be a little more crushed up but still have a great flavor.  when I typically do is take one of the tea bags and open it up to see just what the flowers inside look like and inspect them a little bit.

If you do choose to do this don’t throw the tea out you can simply put it into an infuser and use it that way or you can simply put it into the water, loose, and then use a strainer to get it out after you steep your tea.

Is it really necessary to open a bag up and check out the flowers inside?  probably not but it’s just something that I do whenever I buy a new box of bagged tea.  Just something to think about.

Stop And Smell The Lavender

Another thing I like to do when I get a new bag of lavender tea or anything for that matter. Is to give it a good smell right after opening the bag.

This works whether they’re a loose-leaf or bag tea but it gives you an idea of what to expect from the tea. If there’s something wrong with the tea then you can almost instantly smell but once you open up that bag. For lavender tea, you want a very robust floral note with a touch of mintiness. And the telltale aroma of lavender.

If something doesn’t smell right when you open that bag of tea then something probably is not right and you are going to want to dig a little bit deeper and find out what the problem is so you can return it and get a refund or another bag of tea.
